Who’s Your Dadddy?
ABC News reports that John Edwards has been challenged by Rielle Hunter’s family to take a paternity test. Edwards has admitted to an affair with Hunter, but denies being the father of her 6-month old child.
People must love a good lovechild story, ’cause this is generating way more excitement than I would have expected. Somehow it hardly registers with me.
Or maybe this would have died down quickly if Edwards hadn’t issued so many denials; or had campaigned for the Democratic nomination so enthusiastically knowing this story could have broken out at any moment.
The real story here – I think – is how the mainstream media acted as if they could cover up the story by ignoring it once The National Enquirer broke the news. In this internet era of ours? Keep dreaming. You’re only harming your credibility, mainstream-media folks (H/T: Instapundit).
