Has McCain Taken the Race Back? August 31, 2008

Everybody seems to either be talking Gustav or Polls today. It’s my turn to talk polls.
The latest Rasmussen numbers seem to show Obama’s convention bounce is gone. Yes, he is ahead of McCain, but by the same amount of points as he was before the DNC convention. Where did the bounce go? One theory is that it came from the Clintons’ speeches and was then cancelled out by Obama’s own speech.
The Palin announcement may have something to do with the bounce loss. But the way I read it, it’s hard to tell by how much. And far from me to cherry-pick data. I wouldn’t want to insult anyone’s intelligence.
The flip side of Obama losing his bounce? Perhaps that McCain has taken the race back.
