Why Hillary Supporters Are OK With McCain-Palin September 1, 2008

From a New York Times piece:
Yikes!: Obama just isn’t cutting it for some of them. “We just don’t think he has a message. We don’t think he’s good for women.”
Double Yikes!: The Left’s Anti-Palin arguments are not really reaching them.
Mrs. Clinton’s supporters will never back [Palin], they insisted, because she is against abortion rights.
Not. So. Fast.
That underestimated, or at least underappreciated, the raw feelings of many Clinton supporters, and particularly the women among them, despite the almost flawless display of harmony in Denver.
Give it a read. I’ve noted before the level of Hillraiser enthusiasm for McCain myself, but the NYT piece gives a human dimension to the poll numbers that was not there before for me.
Obama’s supporters need not despair, though. A CNN Poll show’s a post-convention bounce for Obama. But it also show’s a post-Palin bounce for McCain. The ultimate result: a dead heat.
This is gonna be a fun race.
