Congrats to Barack Obama, as he is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. I’ve been feeling for many years that I would come to see an African-American President in my lifetime. And I’m glad to see I was right about that feeling.
I believe we should always get the best person possible for the President’s job, regardless of race or gender. But it’s nice to see it confirmed that America doesn’t have to elect to the Presidency a white man every single time.
