UPDATED: The Hypocrisy Red Herring
Via Instapundit: At Gay Patriot, some comment on one of the strategies of the Tea Party Attack Poodles. It’s the hypocrisy canard: “Reminding us of the spendthrift ways of President Bush and the Republican Congresses of the early 2000s, Democratic officials and liberal bloggers attempt to deny the sincerity of Tea Party protesters.”
Don’t fall into this trap, guys. Hypocrisy has nothing to do with the Left’s gripe about the Tea Parties. It’s not about sincerity, health, or hypocrisy. It’s only about their intolerance for dissent. How could it not be? For one, when it comes to Left-wing politics, hypocrisy is the order of the day. Look at Obama embracing de facto oil mogul (and Venezuelan dictator) Hugo Chavez. The Left seems to see nothing wrong with this, even though Chavez’s government exploits oil reserves to enrich a connected few at the expense of the poor, struggling Venezuelan majority.
However, if the oil profits come from private American oil companies and they benefit millions of shareholders from all walks of life, that is an evil thing that must be eliminated through “windfall taxes”, to say nothing of the fact that oil companies can hardly extract oil from American soil.
Yeah, whine about hipocrisy all you want, Lefties. You’ll only make us laugh as we keep pushing against the Obamista regime Obama administration. And you better get used to it, because the pushing will continue whether you like it or not, whether it strikes you as sincere, healthy or whatever the red herring du jour happens to be.
