Well, Obama’s pronouncements (and those of his supporters) in this area prior to his election were for the purpose of underming a Republican administration, winning the presidential race, and nothing else. When Obama runs for re-election in 2012 he’ll have to come up with some other stuff. Civil libertarian issues, like a bad card trick, are just played out. And that’s probably for the worst. And in this case, for the worst of reasons…
