Must corruption ooze out of everything Washington’s current Political Class touches?
GE (MSNBC‘s corporate parent) “has quietly become the biggest beneficiary of one of the government’s key rescue programs for banks” thanks to loophole in the applicable law. Nice, appearance of impropriety, eh? That’s the same GE that is drooling for a big healthcare records contract if Obamacare becomes law.
But wait! There’s more: turns out that Obama’s Hope for Homeowners program, the much maligned bail-out for homeowners facing foreclosure, is attracting the investigatory attention of the Department of Justice.
Makes you wonder how much wrongdoing is going on, but perhaps a more appropriate question is who will sniff out the wrongdoing? That’s the money question right now given that the federal government is waging war against its own watchdogs: Inspectors General.

WSJ: “The new DVR service would work by storing a viewer’s recordings in computers housed at the cable operator, rather than in a box attached to the viewer’s TV set, making it easier and cheaper for cable and phone companies to offer a recording service. The court said Monday it wouldn’t disturb a federal appeals court ruling that the technology doesn’t violate copyright laws.”

Funny, Obama now makes decisions about Honduran law.
I don’t remember learning the Executive Branch had such powers. And I just graduated from law school recently. Or maybe Jim Treacher is right and it’s all about a lack of ice cream.

It must suck when an argument you disagree with makes sense. After all, the Nazis during WWII hated special needs individuals as much as they hated gays, Jews, and other minorities. The shoe fits. Let’s face it.
And “Nazi” may be a big word to throw around, but if I’ve learned anything in 15 years of media marketing experience it’s that you need to grab the audience’s attention and hold it. Why? Because it works. And it works even better when you back it up with a sensible argument, as I did.
It’d be interesting to read someone’s argument for why eliciting expressions of hate and mockery against a special needs child is not Nazi-like. But if instead all you can do is gripe about me getting results, then you’re better off using your time to Photoshop fascist propaganda.

I dunno. They both attract eugenics advocates?
Legal Insurrection: Wonkette goes after Trig Palin…again!
Why does Wonkette find the need to rally against a special needs child like this? An even better question: does she the author watch Triumph of the Will to get her his jollies? Does she think the camp inmates in Schindler’s List
are the villains?
Just askin’…
UPDATE: Related content at American Power.
MORE: Ed Driscoll points out Ana Marie Cox doesn’t write for Wonkette anymore. It was Ken Layne who wrote the Wonkette post in question. I’m sorry I directed my snark at her. Plus, the irony of it all.
ANOTHER ONE: Getting results. Of course I know how to write a good headline. I have 15 years experience in media, after all. But even if I didn’t use the term “Nazis”, the parallels between the obsession of some Lefties with eugenics and the Third Reich would remain. In the meantime, the headline has been attention grabbing, as intended! The bottom line is the shoe fits.
MORE: Related: Conservative Lesbian: The fear of losing the Down-Syndrome Boogey-Fetus (via The Other McCain). No accusations of Nazism from these folks, but then again, I didn’t accuse anyone of being a Nazi either. I noted parallels to Nazi eugenics on the Wonkette post. But hey, if the shoe fits…

Reuters: Zelaya says U.S. helped thwart coup against him. Oh, so interfering in Honduras’s affairs is ok, but the Iranian uprising was just too much of a hot potato, eh?
Looks like the White House is trying not to offend Chavez AND the Ayatollahs. Doesn’t it?
How about trying not to offend the American people with cheap lines like this one?

Given that the “Climate Change” bill results in a tax on all Americans regardless of income, one has to answer that question with a big “yes”, although the White House would rather that you don’t look at it that way.

Honduran President Manuel Zelaya sure seems to have learned a lot from Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. Of course, you won’t know that if you follow the story on the AP, where the prevailing view seems to be that tyranny is the people’s God-given right.
Funny how Obama’s reaction sounds so much like his reaction to the Iranian crackdown from last week. I figured he’d be incensed at seeing one of Chavez’s buddies removed from power. Do note, however, he didn’t wait 5 days to say something…
UPDATE: That was easy. If only Venezuela had been so lucky…

Well, not like we didn’t see this coming months ago. In fact, it’s almost like Obama is Cheney’s sleeper agent or something.

Right?
Of course it can’t. Don’t be afraid, Lefties. We know Obama could never be secretly doing Cheney’s bidding because Cheney is way more sympathetic to gay rights than Obama is. Duh!
