What’s with this drive to establish Von Brunn’s right-wing bona fides? Why does the Left have to score political points when something bad happens? Even earthquakes don’t escape this treatment (some unfortunate events do, however – they don’t fit the narrative).
The Left needs to do this, otherwise it wouldn’t be done with such insistence. Perhaps the need arises out of the fact that Lefties find it so hard to engage their opposites in the arena of ideas (ask Barney Frank, he knows).
Of course, it helps to do your research. So far, the “Von Brunn is Right Wing” narrative seems to have hatched a little prematurely.
At Politico, they almost get the point. Almost:
In one essay, Von Brunn attacked “JEWS-NEOCONS-BILL O’REILLY,” and the suggestion that neoconservatism is a specifically Jewish conspiracy is common on the racist fringe.
It’s also quite common on the Left Wing fringe.
Just sayin’…
