Via Allahpundit’s Twitter feed: JP: Iranian protests will die out without Western support.

Sad.  I guess it’s a foregone conclusion now that the Obama White House has spoken (or clucked, to be more precise…).

UPDATE: Compare and contrast.  Now, this is courage:

The foreign policy of the U.S. is solely under the President’s control.  He alone has the power under our Constitution to direct it.  If Obama doesn’t stand with the people of Iran, his legacy will be a sad one.  So will the consequences.  And neither he nor his boosters will be able to blame the resulting mess on Bush.

Obama ignores the Iranian people at his own risk.

MORE: Related: The high cost of accommodating Iran: “[W]ith the passing of power from George W. Bush’s hands, the mullahs now have little to fear. The only enemies willing to fight them are largely unarmed, unorganized, unable to seize their moment without assistance that isn’t coming. The result is entirely predictable.” (H/T: Insty)

Very sad.  Very sad indeed…

ANOTHER ONE: Obama legitimizes outlaw regime.  “Iran botches its ‘election’ about as badly as an election can be botched, yet President Barack Obama responds by completely screwing the pooch on what would have been a golden opportunity to show some statesmanship”.  To say the least…
