LAT: President condemns “unjust actions” in Iran.
Unjust actions? That’s all you’ve got? Did someone take a lollipop away from a baby or something? How about “crimes against humanity”? Or is that reserved for American actions only?
Didn’t mention Neda by name either. I suppose he doesn’t want to “offend” the Iranian regime.
At least someone asked Obama the money question: “What took you so long?” (VIDEO)
I didn’t watch it. But seems like the press was generally in fine form. And POTUS must have felt cornered or in a tough spot, otherwise he wouldn’t have emitted such a non-sense excuse as this one or arrange for plants.
UPDATE: A summary of the presser, which covered more than just Iran, here.
MORE: The NYT must be in a sensitive mood. It reports Obama “assailing” the Iranian crackdown, “harshly condemned”.
Harhness? From the Waffle King? How unexpected. Maybe they are mistaking “testy” for “harsh”.
ANOTHER ONE: Related content from Moe Lane: “the administration’s only real focus on any issue is its effect on domestic policy.”
AND ANOTHER ONE: A nice round-up at Instapundit, with some positive feedback for the President from Ed Morrisey (seriously). I still think Obama could have been harsher in tone and in action. Still not getting over the July 4th invites, for one.
