STRATFOR: “Amid the breathless reporting on the demonstrations, reporters failed to notice that the uprising was not spreading to other classes and to other areas…The media thus did not recognize these as the signs of a failing revolution.”

AFP: “The United States said Monday its invitations were still standing for Iranian diplomats to attend July 4 celebrations at US embassies despite the crackdown on opposition supporters.”
What’s some spilled blood among friends, right? I wonder if Israeli diplomats would have been invited if they even gave an Intifada uprising a dirty look…

Black eye courtesy of the Black Eyed Peas? Perez Hilton’s big mouth lands him in trouble, of the fist to the face sort. Maybe the band manager is a fan of Carrie Prejean’s?
Perhaps not, but every now and then the Karma Police serve you with a warrant…
Now Perez’s alleged assailant must face the music, as it should be. Don’t try it at home, kids. You’ll get busted or sued or both…

From rallying cry to cry of desperation. Political Punch: President Obama Brings Back Campaign Slogan for Health Care Reform Battle: “Facing mounting doubts about health care reform proposals …President Obama today tried to rekindle some of campaign enthusiasm that swept him into office last November.”
What? You mean that NYT/CBS poll showing overwhelming support for Obamacare was all wrong?

You know it’s bad when the White House has to translate presidential promises. Now the White House is amending an old campaign promise.
It sounded like a good idea before, not so much anymore. Posting bills for the public to peruse before final passage? So if the bill changes significantly before final passage, people may not get to see the changes. What’s the point?

Ice cream didn’t make the news in Iran today. But it did here in America.
Must be a slow news day here in the U.S. Or at least in the vicinity of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Who runs the assignment desk at CBS News? Rahm Emanuel?
To say nothing of Obama finding the serenity to put the Iranian uprising behind him so he can enjoy some ice cream with his kids. What’s with this guy and aloofness in the face of suffering? I can understand out-of-touch reporters doing it, but the Empathizer-in-Chief? Is this the sort of empathy we can expect from Judge Sotomayor?
BTW, “Godmother” is a reference to the name of POTUS’s ice cream shop of choice today. I don’t mean to attack the ice cream shop, of course. If you are in Alexandria, support it! It’s the sort of small business that you’ll be lucky to find open next year, what with Obama’s choke-hold on free enterprise getting tighter by the day.
UPDATE: Rocky road…

Sad. He’s coming across as the Poser-in-Chief at worst, Johnny-Come-Lately at best. Most of us were against Iranian thuggery before being against it was cool, but our President was too busy thinking about it…

As of Mr. Khameneni’s speech today it seems that (1) above is no longer an option. For everything that Mousavi has publically announced option (2) also seems unlikely.
Unfortunately for everything I know, it now seems its either (3) or (4).
