But still, pretty whacky: Andrew Sullivan sniffs out a Mullah-Neo-Con conspiracy?
Maybe Obama is a secret Neo-Con then. I find it silly that he’ll express objection to Americans who cling to religion while being so sheepish toward the theocratic Iranian regime…

Ok, I’m back at my computer and here’s the link to R.S. McCain’s piece on the unraveling IG Scandal.

Check my Tweeter feed (on the left) for updates, cause I’m away from my computer this morning.
Did schedule a few posts between 8 and 9 AM PT, but not many. So I’ll be posting at least a couple of links on Tweeter. Like The Other McCain’s story on the unraveling IG firing scandal. Should be up on Twitter now!

Woops. NYT: “The new federal report on climate change gets a withering critique from Roger Pielke Jr., who says that it misrepresents his own research and that it wrongly concludes that climate change is already responsible for an increase in damages from natural disasters.”
That’s what is commonly referred to as “hype.” It works wonders in show business, but should not really be applied to science…

NYT: “[M]y problem with ‘Whatever Works,’…is not that the premise…is a wee bit familiar. Rather, it’s that the delivery is off.”
Doesn’t quite sound like a must-see…

Kind of a weak reply to President Bush’s comments: “We won”?
Someone get this man a cup of coffee. Surely he can do better than that!
Just remember that it’s not about you guys, Gibbsy. Americans should feel like they won, too. And less and less of them feel that way…

I asked yesterday if Obama’s honeymoon was over. Congressional Quarterly seems to think so.
Although some major newspapers probably can’t bear the thought of it.

The job market for lawyers is generally pretty bad, especially in the nation’s financial nerve center of New York City. But some Hollywood lawyers are doing pretty good!

Spout: 10 Nicer Film Titles.
There were some other ones out there on Twitter that were pretty good. I personally liked this one from Dan Collins. It sounds like a real movie about dancing lawyers.
My own contribution didn’t make the list.

So a certain NYT story was published on line last night with the headline “In Poll, Obama Is Seen as Ineffective on the Economy“. I know it because I saw it with my own eyes. Professor Reynolds linked to it late last night, too.
But I just heard Rush on the radio comment that the headline was changed overnight. And, in fact, it was. Much milder headline, isn’t it?
I noticed the WSJ did something similar with another poll related story I linked to yesterday. It went from “Rising Doubts Threaten to Overshadow Obama’s Agenda” to something significantly milder…
UPDATE: Ace on why the switcheroos matter.
I wonder if anyone has a screen capture of the NYT headline, but I doubt it. You can see the original WSJ headline if you hover your pointer over the first link on this post of mine from yesterday.

And not from the show’s website, but from the air. That’s gotta hurt…

Well, that tradition of post-office silence went out the window with Bill Clinton. We’ll be hearing from former occupiers of the Oval Office for years to come now.

WSJ:
After a fairly smooth opening, President Barack Obama faces new concerns among the American public…a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.
These rising doubts threaten to overshadow the president’s personal popularity and his agenda, in what may be a new phase of the Obama presidency.

Not what he says: WSJ: Obama Aspires to “Light Touch”, Not a Heavy Hand: “I actually would like to see a relatively light touch when it comes to the government”.
Relative compared to what? The Borg? He’s either trying to make us laugh or trying to insult our intelligence. Either way, can’t be taken seriously.

Political Punch: Obama says there’s not much difference between Ahmadinejad’s policies and Mousavi’s.
So the insurrection just happens to prefer Mousavi because…his beard looks better on him? Or what?
Since the mullahs are the ones who really run things in Iran, Obama is not far from the truth. And some of the evidence seems to bear his position out.
But given that Iranians are literally dying (or more precisely, getting killed) to see Mousavi assume the Iranian presidency, that seems like the wrong thing to say right now.

Not the smoothest of week’s for the White House so far. And it’s only Tuesday. Of course, it’d be bumpier if the MSM paid attention to any of the bumps.
Let’s see how things go after the big Obamacare show on ABC…

Home of the Whopper. Obama claims 150,000 jobs have been “saved or created”. But that’s just not so. “The fact is the economy has lost more jobs, and the unemployment rate is significantly higher, than the administration originally predicted would be the case if Washington did nothing. In fact, the original projections of Obama’s economic aides have turned out to be off by a very wide margin.”
So much for all that spin. Not that anyone was buying it.
