UPDATED: House Committee on Posturing

Maybe Congress’s time is in fact better spent investigating past political sex scandals, because it looks like mining the Bush White House for CIA scandals has “jumped the shark”:  Fox News: Congress Authorized CIA to Develop Secret Al Qaeda Plan, Former Official Says (via SayAnything).  It’s all about making Nancy Pelosi look good (or at least not look so bad).

So much for that Cheney-esque, “shadow government” hype.  Next thing you know, it will be revealed that Congress authorized those scandalous AIG bonuses or something…

ANOTHER ONE: Journalism is hard: Did the New York Times report on this secret CIA project in 2002?  (H/T: @MayBeeTweet) If so, how come they now refer to it as “concealed”?

Even more to the point: how come it’s all a secret to Congress, then?  Either Congress doesn’t read the NYT or Bush trusted the NYT with the information more than he did Congress, or…Pelosi and the Democrats are full of crap.
