I get the sense that the term “the plot thickens” will become emblematic of the Obama era, what with IG-gate (now with its very own website!) and now this (which admittedly has little to do with the Obama administration, except for the fact that the President injected himself into it so “stupidly”, as it were). Couldn’t say the same of the Bush administration, since the State Run Media made sure to let us know a priori that his would be the worst administration in recent history; and then developed a fitting narrative from there.
I think I like it better this way. It’s always more dramatic to be promised Utopia and to then see the cat vacate the bag.
