Why has the White House been hiding that Obama’s known the Salahis for months?
What do they know that we don’t?

…and the movies that inspired them.
Cool stories at the link above. Those and more have been collected in a book about to be released by the British Film Institute, fittingly titled Screen Epiphanies: Filmmakers on the Films that Inspired Them

Salena Zito strolls down Main Street, USA and finds no love for our political class, their media allies, and what passes for governance today: “government bailouts, spending and unchecked corruption.”

Bloomberg: Hondurans vote today as troops watch and Zelaya urges boycott. And the U.S. supports the process even though Zelaya isn’t even a candidate? I say the White House is having a rare moment of lucidity…
It’s the Honduran Army’s constitutional duty to administer elections, so I wouldn’t take that “troop watch” thing too seriously…

Groan of the Week: Mediaite: Joy Behar wonders on-air if using the term “Black Friday” is racist.
If you believe making a profit is a bad thing, I guess it would be racist. And who knows? Given the times we live in, maybe Joy Behar thinks steering a business into money-making territory is undesirable somehow…

Slate‘s Jacob Weisberg is excited about Obama’s Brilliant First Year.
I know it’s been hard on Obama supporters that POTUS isn’t delivering quite as promised, but Weisberg’s level of denial is ridiculous. On the other hand, maybe it’s just bias. At any rate, the White House sure could use a cheering section right now.
Anyway, I’m sure some of Obama’s opponents think he’s brilliant…

R.S. McCain says “Cap & Tax” is dead now that the climate research fraud is exposed.
I sure hope so, but Al Gore is the most successful science fiction movie star of our generation; and his overnight success was the result of years of hard work. So I expect him and his acolytes to keep fighting. As should do those of us who oppose them…

Kevin McCullough on Obama and U.S. standing in the world: “Barack Obama suffers a tremendous deficit of clarity and it’s getting ugly.”
It’s the Obama effect. Call it Global Blundering. Just don’t expect anyone to be actually capable of hiding the decline on this one.

Mediaite: “Hope is Fading Fast” t-shirt is the brainchild of noted Leftie designer.
You gotta be pretty dissatisfied to come up with an anti-Obama t-shirt and a list of grievances against him. Either the natives are getting restless or Obama is running out of rubes. And he hasn’t even been in office one year…

The Inquisitr: “It would be a common reaction from the rest of us in the world to shrug our shoulders saying ah it’s a British problem, if they want to let this happen it’s their own fault…Besides recent history showing that this is a short-sighted position to take there is also another much more subtle and potentially dangerous change to individual country laws.”
Read the whole thing. This is all arising from that secret copyright treaty of which you might have heard in recent weeks. Yes, the one the Obama White House didn’t want you to know about (I guess “transparency” was just a slogan, not a promise). In short, you could say the entertainment industry and a power-grubbing political class are behind it all.
As one of my law school professors once said, the law is like a hammer. You can use it to build or you can use it to destroy. A corollary of this axiom is that elections have consequences. Think about that next time you vote.
