THR Esq.: Dude who appeared on DEA suing producers for not blurring his face properly.
That sucks. I don’t mean getting sued, but trying to remain anonymous and then being recognized.
Of course, if you want to be anonymous, it’s probably best to stay away from any live cameras.

Dr. Fiancee and I liked this BBC series.
Somehow I found the time and energy to blog Friday night. I scheduled several posts for Saturday. As for the upcoming week, I’ll have to play it by ear because my episode starts editing on Monday.
Fortunately, I’m caught up on all the footage. But that can change at any moment. Such is the nature of post-production. Maybe even more so with Reality TV.
At the Bionic Body Shop. These are enhancements that are either in development or already in existence. But they’re quite pricey.
Too bad, because my shopping list is a little long. I could use a pair of bionic eyes, maybe one hearing aide, and definitely the brain-machine interface. I bet that last one would get rid of my carpal tunnel syndrome…

World upside down. LAT: Death penalty is considered a boon by California inmates.
You might recall I mentioned this quirk of the California justice system some days ago.
It’s capital punishment with a California touch. It makes a laughingstock of its tax-paying citizens in more ways than one.

Even if Hoffman ended up winning, Owens has been sworn into office. Too late to change anything.
But was it all according to plan or actually snafu-caused, as discussed at the link?
Maybe the vote undercount “snafu” is the new election fraud scheme of choice. It certainly is more subtle than the old ACORN mainstays…
UPDATE: Not too late: Michelle Malkin e-mails:
Not too late to change anything. The State Board of Elections spokesman says Owens can be removed if results change.

STRATFOR: The Hasan Case: Overt Clues and Tactical Challenges:
[W]e discussed the recent call by the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Nasir al-Wahayshi, for jihadists to conduct simple attacks against a variety of targets in the Muslim world and the West. We also noted how it is relatively simple to conduct such attacks against soft targets using improvised explosive devices, guns or even knives and clubs. The next day, a lone gunman, U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, opened fire on a group of soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas.
I still think it’s irrelevant whether Hasan can be called a terrorist or not, but there you have it. STRATFOR documents always make for good reads, anyway…
I just started on this TV project and I’m already behind. It may be a few days, but I’ll resume blogging as soon as it’s convenient…
My deepest thanks. Happy Veteran’s Day.
Sorry I posted this so late in the day. I forgot all about it last night and couldn’t do anything about it today.
So I start at a new show today. It’s more of a reality show than the last one I was at (which was more documentary-like). It’s a show on the Discovery Channel you might have watched before.
Anyway, I have a lot of material to get acquainted with, so I’m spending my early morning studying it. That means no more scheduled posts for today, after this one.

Mediaite needs a legal consultant. Or at least Glynnis MacNicol does, because she’s jumping to conclusions about Glenn Beck’s legal rights in that “parody” website matter; and basically misreporting the whole event.
An arbitration is not a lawsuit, as Glynnis refers to the proceeding. And the World Intellectual Property Organization panel that arbitrated the dispute is not a court of law, so it has no jurisdiction over claims of defamation or even the power to decide Constitutional rights to free expression. The panel – thus – did not “rule” that a certain internet domain name was protected under the First Amendment. Again, the panel has no such powers. But, that’s not what the panel did here anyway. I read the decision. Maybe Glynnis did too, but she got it all wrong. (More …)

Mark Steyn: Shooter exposes hole in U.S. terror strategy.
While everybody else looks to either excuse Hasan as a victim of some sort of stress or another – or wonders whether Hasan carried out an act of terror or not – Mark Steyn gets to the essence of the problem. But I’d go one better and say it’s a big hole in U.S. national security strategy. We simply let our guard down.

Strange question of the week: Was Hasan a terrorist or not?
Media and government types just keep pondering the above question. But does it really matter whether Hasan was trying to instill terror on the American populace or not?
In the end, whether Hasan can be called a terrorist or whether he had ties to a terrorist organization is about as important as how many people at a Kiss concert are members of the Kiss Army.
The bottom line here is that a follower of a certain extremist religious persuasion which has been targeting Americans for decades decided to do exactly that at Fort Hood last week – and caused a lot of harm. So let’s stop fooling ourselves before we get even more painful rude awakenings like last week’s: radical Islam is at war with the U.S. and Western society at large.
