Including a box-set of The Shield, the complete series. Cool.

BigGovernment: ACORN to protest election results tomorrow in Clinton County.
ACORN is so discredited that I doubt their protest – if it happens at all – will be of any consequence. I’m a lot more concerned about what they do out of public view, such as voter fraud…and – as seen on YouTube – conspiring to enslave children in prostitution rings…
UPDATE: Related: Worrying about voter fraud in NY23.

The Other McCain looks at the role of bloggers in the NY23 race. Cool quote: “We defeated the Daily Kos candidate.”
Nice. This isn’t over yet. Hoffman still has to win, but at least the message is loud and clear: RINO’s and DIABLO’s won’t be tolerated.

Do Politico writers read The Rhetorican?
Probably not, otherwise these two wouldn’t be noting now what I noted months ago: that the Tea Party movement is not a Republican movement.
Thus, it doesn’t matter how down on its luck or irrelevant the GOP is. The Tea Party crowd doesn’t derive its momentum from the GOP. And its goals are broader than replacing one party with another: it aims to undermine the ever-increasing power – not of Democrats per se – but of our Political Class.
The problem for Democrats is that – given that they are for all intents and purposes The Establishment – they will suffer the brunt of the Tea Party shockwave, along with any Republican who’s forgotten why small government and individual liberty are so valuable.

Washington Times: “In the months since Mr. Obama took office, his administration has showered the Democratic Party’s key fundraisers with insider briefings from administration staffers, access to the president and top aides and all the social perks that only the White House can bestow. The president, who ran for office saying he wanted to clean up fundraising, is perfectly happy to wallow in the cash-for-access mud pit.”
Why would we expect anything else? It’s the Chicago way…

The Golden State Isn’t Worth It…especially compared with low-tax states like Texas:
California’s interlocking directorate of government employee unions, issue activists, careerists and campaign contributors has become increasingly aggressive and adept at using rhetoric extolling public benefits for all to deliver targeted advantages to itself. As a result, the political reality of the high-benefit/high-tax model is that its public goods are, increasingly, neither public nor good. Instead, the beneficiaries are the providers of the public services, and certain favored or connected constituencies, rather than the general population.
I’ve been telling Angelenos for 15 years now that Texas is a great place to live. People never seemed to understand what I was talking about. I never thought I’d see a piece in the LAT agree with me on that one.
I never saw the “high benefit” thing that this guy is talking about, either…

Public Policy Polling: “Chris Christie leads Jon Corzine 47-41 in PPP’s final poll of the New Jersey Governor’s race, with Chris Daggett at 11%.”
If you live in Jersey and you want to send Corzine and his Obamaist agenda packing, you better vote for Christie on Tuesday and bring people out to vote for him. A vote for Daggett is pretty much a vote for Corzine. And a low turnout is an opportunity for ACORN and friends to do their thing and steal the election.
Nothing against Independents (I’m not registered with any party myself), but Daggett doesn’t have the numbers to pull a victory here. And it’s too late for him to develop them.

American Thinker: Perhaps Not All Politics Are Local.
No one in Texas or Florida or North Carolina should live in fear of whatever whacko is sent to Congress from the shadows of Berkeley or from the machine politics of Chicago. Yet we do know, care, and in fact live in fear of these people — and for good reason.
They consider all money as theirs and they want to control every aspect of our lives — and they have made significant inroads towards doing just that in a few months.
Alas. If you were wondering why so many on the Right are keeping a close eye on the NY23 race, the above’s the reason…

TV Squad wonders about the homoerotic trend in recent Quiznos advertising.
I’ve seen both spots, but I must confess I just thought of them as weird and nothing more. Quiznos has a history of weird TV spots.
Remember this campaign?
The strange creatures in the video are the work of Joel Veitch, the British animator who also did the Rock ‘n Roll Kitten image campaign for VH1 Classic back in 2003.
Me and my colleagues were big fans, back when I worked in TV marketing. But my all-time favorite Veitch creation is this Led Zeppelin-inspired one.
