An inspirational song and accompanying music video at TOM (based on a true story).
OK, I seriously expect Quincy Jones and his lawyers to make a big deal about this, a la Don Henley.

L.A. City Council Bans Panhandling Superheroes? “According to LAPD officials, tourists and other visitors…complained of being accosted by overzealous costumed movie characters who pestered them for tips after having pictures taken with them…Approximately 8 of the costumed characters were arrested. Others were cited and told to leave the area.“
Hollywood’s panhandling superheroes are an aspect of L.A. life depicted in good detail by the documentary Confessions of a Superhero
, which I tried to watch recently but found too sad to get through.
But identity politics being what they are in L.A., I would expect a very different reaction from the City Council if most panhandling superheroes were Hispanic immigrants, whether illegal or not.
Related (marginally): “Jack Dunphy” on SB 1070, illegal aliens, and law enforcement.

THR, Esq.: ” A federal judge has tentatively ruled that California senatorial candidate Chuck DeVore violated rocker Don Henley’s copyrights on two songs when he used them as the basis for campaign commercials posted on YouTube.”
No word on whether an appeal is in the works. More than one politician has been sued on similar grounds.
Could PolitiZoid be next or is their use distinguishable because it’s not for advertising purposes? Stay tuned…

London Telegraph: “Authorities in China are investigating reports that dozens of babies who were taken from their parents for breaching the country’s strict one-child policy were sold for adoption to families in Europe and America.”
Lose your house, get five apartments. Lose your child, [fill in the blank, fellas...]
