Deadspin: “In 1974, a Clevelander wrote the Browns complaining of the menace posed by the then-fad of throwing paper airplanes, and implicitly threatened litigation. The Browns’ response is just about the most awesome thing ever committed to paper.”
Soros-funded, University of Maryland poll concludes “Fox News viewers were the most misinformed during the 2010 election cycle”.
Yawn.
Of course, no need to research which Americans were the most misinformed about Barack Obama during the 2008 election cycle. They know who they are…

Salon: Keith Olbermann quit Twitter because of me: “I was frustrated with the way the Julian Assange rape case had been treated by fellow left-wing media figures, including Keith Olbermann, but especially Michael Moore, who minimized the accusations while pledging bail money to Assange.”

There are no permanent victories in politics. That’s a given. But evidently some victories are more temporary than others.
In a period of about two years, the American Left went from “We’re all socialists now” and “It’s Bush’s Fault” – plus incessant accusations of racism against whoever dared to even disagree with the purveyor of Hope and Change – to silly whining about Reaganomics, hurling profanity at the President*, and – finally – the ignominious defeat of watching the once-great champion of the Left keeping the so-called Bush Tax Cuts right where Bush left them.
Lefties have come full circle. And they said it couldn’t be done.
But remember: there are no permanent victories in politics. There is work to be done and a country to fix from years of fiscal mismanagement (brought about by both Democrats and Republicans, but definitely worsened in the last two years). No time to waste.
But it’s almost Christmas. So let’s enjoy the Waterloo for a couple of days. And then keep pushing.
*Any comment from Maureen Dowd on this one; or is it just not as interesting to her as "You Lie!"?

A real-life fact pattern for a Contracts final exam: “How I got an uncooperative eBay buyer to pay for her purchase”.
Via Consumerist who asks: “Unethical? Yes. Illegal? Probably not. An eBay bid is a binding contract. An email is not.”
I believe in California a binding contract can result via e-mail, but you’d still need all the elements of contract formation to be present. Were they present here? Are there any defenses?
WaPo-ABC Poll finds fault in non-existent Republican Congress: “Republicans may have made major gains in the November elections, but they have yet to win the hearts and minds of the American people.”
How could they? They’re not even in office yet!
Journalism is hard: CNN Accidentally Airs Diarrhea Scene from Dumb and Dumber while covering London student protests.
I worked a couple of live broadcasts in my lifetime. Live TV is not easy, but it takes a lot of buttons or – nowadays – a serious software malfunction to have a random clip like that interrupt a broadcast.
Weird, to say the least. But awfully funny. And very apropos, considering CNN’s numbers have been in the crapper for some time now.
Of course they do: Progressives Cheer Mark Madoff Suicide as ‘Revolutionary Justice’.
Well, some progressives, anyway. I had the feeling Madoff’s death would be celebrated by Lefties somewhere on the internet just because he’s a Madoff, but there’s counterculture; and then there’s counterstupidity.
Calling it ‘Revolutionary Justice’ is mistaken, to say the least. Or perhaps my memory fails me; and taking credit for the actions of others when they comport with your agenda is one of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Though I thought that was just a rule of politics, period.
The issue is that revolutions – whenever they’ve happened throughout the world – have been brought about by individuals organized and acting around an idea; be it freedom, or equality, or instituting a republic, or – yes – social justice (whatever that means these days). But celebrating Mark Madoff’s death as a triumph for the cause is akin to wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt under the suit you wear to your Wall Street internship while enjoying your trust fund as you attend [insert Ivy League school here].
I don’t mean that Howie Klein is a wealthy spoiled brat who doesn’t really stand for “revolution”. I’m sure the dude is serious about his progressiveness (but given that he was the president of one of Warner Bros. record labels for more than a decade, odds are he has a bit of the capitalist pig in him).
Mr. Klein, revolutionary justice is something you and your ilk must bring about on your own. No one will ever know what – exactly – prompted Mark Madoff to kill himself, but two things are certain: (1) he didn’t kill himself because you and the red horde surrounded his fancy New York co-op and left him no alternative but to hang himself; and (2) his death – as good as it must make you feel – hasn’t made for a more just society anywhere in this country.
Revolution is something you do, not something you wait for the establishment to do for you. So, by all means, Mr Klein: Bring it, comrade. Let’s dance.
UPDATE: Another tragedy – a crime, really. And just another instance in which a more just society did not result. But as long as the Howie Kleins of the world keep celebrating random deaths as “revolutionary justice” we’ll probably see more crimes of that sort being committed.

Still, not a word from Janeane Garofalo. Which is weird, since she’s been quite the watchdog in this regard, to say the least.
