Hope, Change, and Assassination: WSJ: Top Al Qaeda Figure Anwar al-Awlaki Killed.
Will any death penalty opponents deplore the assassination of this U.S. Citizen? Even Tim McVeigh didn’t get this sort of treatment (he enjoyed his constitutional right to due process).
The Twilight of the Rubes just got a little darker…

White House Dossier: Warren [Buffett] and Barack’s Gift to America: “Obama speaks often about how this country needs innovation, that new businesses are the future, and blah blah blah. Who does he think invests in startups? Venture capitalists who make a high risk investment hoping to recoup a Facebook-style reward one day. Start threatening to tax their hoped-for capital gains at the top income rates of 28-35 percent – or up to nearly 40 percent if Obama gets to do away with the Bush tax cuts – and watch investors put their money instead in safe bets like, you know, Berkshire Hathaway.”
Good times…
UPDATE: Ace: Buffett throws Obama under the bus
!? Live and in color on CNBC.As I’ve said before, taste the irrelevance…
MORE: There is some controversy as to the extent of Buffett’s repudiation, so I turned the above assertion about the under-bus-throwing into a question. But the CNBC video speaks for itself. It’s a clear unendorsement, as RCP‘s headline suggests. There is certainly disagreement there, as opposed to “no there there”.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter. The Jobs Bill is DOA. As opposed to Obama’s popularity, which is very much alive and southbound…

ELIZABETH WARREN, CALL YOUR OFFICE! WaPo: Ever-increasing tax breaks for U.S. families eclipse benefits for special interests: “Broad tax breaks granted to millions of families at all income levels dwarf the corporate giveaways. Over the past two years, largely because of these popular benefits in the federal income tax code, the government has reached a rare milestone in tax collection — it has given away nearly as much as it takes in.”

STOP MAKING SENSE: Janeane Garofalo: Racist Republicans Support Herman Cain.
In the future, the adjective ‘racist’ will have no meaning whatsoever, negative or positive. A new word will have to be coined to indicate the tendency to judge everything in terms of race.
On the other hand, I think it’s likely that the name Garofalo has already become synonymous with a certain degree of asininity…

Recovery Bummer, Hollywood Edition: Sony to Stop Paying for 3D Glasses in May 2012: “Sony Pictures Entertainment has notified theater owners in a letter that it will no longer pay for 3D glasses, beginning in May 2012, marking a major policy shift that many other studios are likely considering…The price tag for 3D glasses is no laughing matter — studios can spend $5 million to $10 million worldwide for a tentpole (they pay after the fact, based on how many glasses were actually used).”
This can only mean one of two things: either going to the movies is about to become more expensive, or 3D movies as a viable entertainment business are heading for extinction…all over again.

JournalismDocumentary Production Is Hard: UK Documentary Mistakes Video Game Footage for Real World Terrorism: “A documentary that aired on Britain’s ITV channel Monday night called “Exposure: Gaddafi and the IRA” has a problem with reality. Apparently the makers of the documentary promised footage linking Libya’s Colonel Moammar Gadhafi and the IRA, but mistakenly included video from a video game.”People use the term documentary a little too casually these days, but this is ridiculous…

Vote Fraud Update: Diebold voting machines can be hacked by remote control.
Voting machines and early voting are two sides of the same coin. If as a society we don’t care to put all the effort reliable elections require – be it counting votes by hand responsibly and as accurately as possible; or showing up to vote on election day - then we might as well give up on democratic elections…

Today in Racerism: Chris Matthews asks if white voters hold Black politicians to a higher standard.
Of course they don’t, but Obama’s performance is so much below even the lowest of standards (like, say, President Carter’s performance, i.e. the current standard for presidential ineffectiveness) that I understand why it would seem that way to Chris…
