Twilight of the Rubes: Obama Supporter Interviews Her 2008 Self.
ABC’s Dark Night of the Solely Acting Out of Stupid Bias: When I learned about the Aurora, Colorado tragedy this morning, I knew immediately that some people would try to blame it on anyone on the right that could be even tenuously connected to it. That has in fact been the case among Lefties on Twitter (par for the course, if you ask me). But ABC News should know better. This is pathetic TV journalism – and defamation. Par for the course among the MSM, if you ask me.
A robust roundup on this topic at Instapundit.
UPDATE: MSNBC Politicizes Dark Knight Shooting With Long Gun Control Segment. Dog bites man. Of course, no mention during the segment of facts like the following, which are mentioned in the article at the link:
The places where there are strident gun control laws do not have an especially great track record of avoiding gun violence. In Chicago, where a 28-year ban on handgun ownership was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2010, there have been 275 gun-related murders this year alone and many more shooting injuries as of July 11. Chicago is now voluntarily loosening its present gun control laws which may allow citizens to cope with mounting violence.
Abroad, in the liberal enclaves of Scandinavia, which is often cited models for successful gun control laws, there are still high profile incidents of gun violence despite the restrictions on their ownership. In 2007, 18-year-old Pekka-Eric Auvinen killed 10 of his fellow high school students and himself in Finland. His pistol was legally acquired legally and he had no criminal record. In the tragic 2011 attack on a children’s camp in Norway, Anders Breivik used an AK-47 he had brought with him from Poland to commit his atrocity.

A Troubling Lack of Self Awareness: Dems to invoke Dark Knight’s nemesis Bane to attack Romney’s links to Bain Capital.
Bain sounds like Bane. Bane bad, so Bain bad, too. Get it?
Of course, that means that Obama is playing the role of the lone, brooding heroic crusader Batman. But unlike president Obama, Batman would never order the summary execution of anyone because Batman doesn’t kill. And that’s just for starters. Not to mention all the money the Obama campaign has accepted from Bain Capital. So this makes what kind of sense?
Instances of Lefties failing at self-awareness just keep happening - again and again and again…

Nikke Finke has an update on HBO’s Roger Ailes movie project:
Today I’ve received this email from HBO Films President Len Amato: “We recently decided not to pursue the Ailes project. It had become clear to us before even receiving a script that due to our company’s CNN affiliation the film could never be seen as objective.” Interesting, because today I’ve learned that none of the dealmakers have yet been informed by HBO that the project isn’t going forward. “HBO was trying hard to keep the project under wraps,” one of the dealmakers tells me. My reporting blew that.
She adds: “HBO appears obsessed by GOP Conservatives.”
Yup, pretty much…
Tax, Penalty, Whatever (with apologies to SNL staff writers from over 3 decades ago):
*Via Ezra Klein, who also finds the distinction irrelevant, but for different reasons. The confiscation of $28 billion dollars from private hands over 10 years isn’t exactly “a pittance”, though.
Whether it’s a tax or a penalty is not the issue. The issue really is whether it’s good or bad. Why are some people so confident that all that penaltax cash will go to pay for health insurance when we can’t even spend ‘Stimulus’ as intended?

Dog Bites Man: HBO Now Targeting Fox News’ Roger Ailes.
With a TV movie, executive-produced by a couple of folks from MSNBC whose names you’ll find familiar. I guess HBO is indeed the pay cable non-news equivalent of MSNBC!
So today marks the day the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed, but it also marks the day the Founders announced to the world their vision for a nation unlike any other: one where power flows from the People, not from government. That vision was realized in the provisions of the U.S. Constitution. It was a concrete accomplishment, not a mere goal.
Let’s not undo – or let others undo – what has been done.
