Still shaming the English-language MSM: Watch a preview of Univision’s “bombshell” report on Fast & Furious.
The report will air tonight with English subtitles (you may have to turn the close-captioning on) in a special edition of Univision’s weekly one-hour newsmagazine Aqui y Ahora. I’ve never watched it, but from the looks of its website it’s a sort of hard-hitting Spanish-language version of CBS‘s 60 Minutesˆ.
I guess Univision was just getting warmed up that other time…

Iranian News Agency falls for Onion parody: “A news agency in Iran has published a report by the satirical news website, The Onion, saying rural white Americans would rather vote for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than Barack Obama.”
Note that in the case of Iran specifically, misunderstanding American pop culture is actually a bit of an official pastime. On the other hand, you might just think that this lack of sense of humor is to be expected from Muslim radicals (and who could blame you?); but to be fair, it’s probably more of a dogmatist thing, generally.
Sadly, that’s not all our State Run Media has in common with Iranian elites. Some of our TV talking heads like the idea of punishing filmmakers for ‘dangerous’ expression – just like they do in Iran.

Don’t have much time to blog today, but just wanted to give Professor Jacobson a big hand for uncovering Elizabeth Warren’s Bar-gate Scandal – and for doing the kind of work the MSM used to do (back when it was up to the task. Journalism is hard, after all). He’s merely given progressive darling Elizabeth Warren the scrutiny any candidate deserves – and which was more than warranted after her fake Cherokee ancestry was revealed. Bar membership info is publicly available. It’s easy-enough research. But expecting the basics from today’s supine press is too much to ask these days.
But enough about the lamestream media. Speaking as a lawyer, if Warren indeed was practicing law in Massachusetts without a license, her conduct would have been not just unprofessional and unethical (not to mention illegal). She would also have chosen a disturbingly selfish and irresponsible course of conduct. She would have been taking clients away from actual, licensed, fee-paying, insured, CLE-current Massachusetts attorneys, time after time for 10 years. Just like she took a teaching job away from an actual Cherokee the whole time she was at Harvard.
Without a license, you can’t get malpractice insurance coverage, for one. What if a case had gone wrong? How would she have made an injured client whole?
Ultimately, this all speaks to Warren’s character [or lack of, to be precise]. And to why you just can’t trust the leadership choices of progressive boosters.
Let’s see what develops…

A flag of their own: Obama’s flag reminds many Twitter users of U.S. consulate blood stains. Well, you could say that what the former stands for begat the latter.
However, the really creepy thing about that flag is not this eerie coincidence, but the White House/Obama Campaign’s insistence on dividing the American people (they call that thing ‘Our Stripes’, which denotes exclusion by implication), even as the president keeps saying that his role is to be a president “of all the people“. And then there’s that bizarre State Hug imagery from Messina’s ‘For All’ campaign.

After all, the latter enhances the message of the former. And like I posted earlier: Since when is it a fatal gaffe for a candidate to say exactly what his base is thinking?
As the Romney camp demonstrated with the stunt-casting of Clint Eastwood in the Republican convention line-up, they are not above surprise moves…
UPDATE: By the way, Obama really liking redistribution is something we knew before he became president, since he pretty much admitted to it when he first met Joe the Plumber, back in 2008.

A Place called Saletan-land: Where “Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and Jews” are all capable of rioting with deadly results: “A couple of idiots with a video camera and an internet connection…[will] bait you into killing one another”. When was the last time Christians, Hindus, and Jews went on a killing spree over mockery, through video or anything else?
Don’t remember Bill Maher’s movie triggering any killings – and I bet you it was more than a couple of idiots behind that camera.
No Muslims were baited into killing one another in Benghazi. Muslims killed Americans, first of all. Second, the video wasn’t the cause or the catalyst of those killings. The video is merely a convenient pretext, both for the Obama administration and for radical Muslims.
Saletan has conjured a nice little alternate reality here; one that is both spineless and asinine. He’s full of it, even after a rhetorical drubbing at the hands of Ace himself.
John Nolte: Some Anti-Islam Filmmakers Are More Equal Than Others: “Bill Maher made a comedy/documentary called ‘Religulous’ that’s most famous for mercilessly mocking Christianity. But what people forget is that the last twenty-minutes or so of the film make a damning case against Islam.”
And as John reminds us, Bill Maher also donated $1 million dollars to Obama’s campaign. Is that why feds are not investigating Maher?
The truth is the offensive video is not the cause of the protests. It’s merely a pretext. The sad thing is that it’s both Al Qaeda’s and the White House’s pretext.
By the way, they’re relentless at Big Hollywood. Way to be: Will Obama stop the Bin Laden movie now??
