But isn’t Greenwald guilty of similar hypocrisy?  He and many other Obama boosters condemned Obama’s pro-wiretap vote back in 2008; and yet they did not switch their support to another candidate.  It was as if the pursuit of political power was more important than principle or something…

I’ve noticed that since we left L.A., my wife and I go to the movies – to actual theaters – much more often than we used to in Los Angeles.  Four times in the last 2 months, to be specific.

Ironic, but it’s just more pleasant to go to the movies in New Mexico.  It’s not even the ticket price.  I think it’s the fact that parking is easier; crowds are smaller; and theaters are more on the ball about enforcing politeness in their auditoriums.

I thought it was a cool enough ad, as far as commercials go. But it sounded to me like a veiled celebration of the Government Motors bailouts that dismisses – rather deceptively, as the ad was not shot in Detroit – what a dry husk of a city Detroit has become in recent years.
