I predict the MSM will describe this altercation as “unexpected” and shocking. But they honestly can’t use such words in reporting on this event. You can’t demonize someone for days on end and then feign surprise when an act of violence against the object of your vitriol materializes…

Well, that would require the actual practice of journalism.
Janice Hahn’s approach to policy is obviously pretty boneheaded. But she’s a cunning politician. L.A. politics requires a lot of coalition-building given the size of the city and the diversity of its populace. What better way to ingratiate herself with the African American community than “let’s do something about gang violence”? Of course, she expanded that concept into “let’s take some city money and throw it around to do something about gang violence, regardless of who gets it”.
True, Janice is the daughter of former L.A. City Councilman Kenneth Hahn, who was an ardent supporter of the civil rights cause back in the 60′s. So the Hahn name has plenty of cred with the African American community in Los Angeles already. But that might not have been enough…

The rallying cry among Lefties this week is not so much Wisconsin public employee unions as it is Rep. King’s investigation of – not American Muslims – but radical Islam. And this – as often happens when the Left is out of power – has resulted in some primo comedy gold:
No doubt both men (and especially Ezra Klein, he of the Obama For America task force known as JournoList) will agree that president Obama only wants the best for America. If so, they must ask themselves one question: if American Christians and the American radical right are a bigger threat than radical Islamists in America, why is it that Obama hasn’t ordered the assassination of any American Christians or extreme right-wingers, but has instead ordered the assassination of a radical American imam?
Is it because Dick Cheney is still president?
Is it the end of the world? No, but I can’t help agreeing with this sentence in regards to the deplorable treatment of Private Bradley Manning (aka as Wikileaks’star correspondent): “You can’t be unaware of this, Mr. President. Silence gives consent.”
But it’s not just POTUS’s silence that is deafening here. Not a word from anti-waterboarding paladin Nancy Pelosi? Bill Maher? Keith Olbermann? 60 Minutes? Michael Moore?
Then again, it shouldn’t be only liberals who raise a stink about this. But given that Abu Ghraib and waterboarding were prominent Leftie rallying cries, you can’t help but to wonder if they stopped caring about torture as an issue sometime after the Obama Inauguration…
